About Trattoria Positano

FROM THE AMALFI COAST

The three of us; Amalia, Catarina and Laura Di Luccia grew up on the kitchen floor of Il Cefalo. Translated into English means “The Gray Mullet”. This small restaurant and pensione is located outside of Positano on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. From the time we could push a broom we had a job in the family business.

According to Amalia, “Our father never hired an employee until all the children had grown up and left.” I never remember eating in the kitchen of the house where we lived. “We always ate in the restaurant.”

We Di Luccia sisters are well steeped in the food business. Although we are trained as teachers, food is our passion. After Laura married Chef Jorge Ramirez, we opened Trattoria Positano in 1997. It was a life-long dream come true.

After 20 years, Trattoria Positano is a staple in Cardiff-by-the-Sea taking you back to the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast with it’s authentic regional Italian cuisine.

When visiting the Amalfi Coast, be sure to visit Il Cefalo, our brother’s restaurant.
